The artist shows a large-format spatial drawing specially developed for the gallery space along with other derivative works which further her experimentation of VHS magnetic tape as a drawing tool.
Using the archetypal symbolism of the vesica piscis as a mythological framework the artist explores the relationship between the Me and the Other through a series of multidimensional works that attempt to transcend this dichotomy through the use of repetition, ritual and a poetic principle.

NADiff a/p/a/r/t (Ebisu, Tokyo) will hold an exhibition to celebrate the publication of "Signals", a collection of works published by Drawing Tube, a platform for new research, dialogue and practice of drawing. The book will be on display from July 7th (Thursday), and 18 artists who participated in the project will exhibit and sell their small-sized drawings.

In the spring of 2020, Drawing Tube launched “Signals” in collaboration with artists working in different environments all over the world. It was interested in exploring what artists were thinking during the pandemic. Artists were encouraged to contribute small visual and textual fragments from their daily life that materialized from hand and eye movements as well as spontaneous thoughts.
Collectively, these become signals of this new era and a space to reconsider how drawing can work as a means to translate and perceive changing reality.

ドローイングアーティストである鈴木ヒラク・中原一樹らがメンバーとして運営する国際的プラットフォーム「Drawing Tube：は、現代におけるドローイングの可能性を研究しています。
Drawing Tubeは、コロナウィルスによるパンデミックをきっかけに、”Signals”というプロジェクトを世界中の様々な環境の下で制作を続けるアーティスト達と開始。2020年の春からの約2年の間に30組が参加し、非常事態下のそれぞれのヴィジョンや思考を、イメージと短いテキストという形式で共有しました。
この書籍はそのアーカイヴであり、ある時代の転換期においてアーティスト達が日常の中で手や目を動かした、その小さな軌跡の集合体です。また、出版に際し、ドイツ人キュレーターのヤン・フィリップ・フリューゾルゲ氏による「危機の時代のドローイング」を問うテキストが加わりました。”Signals”は、変化し続ける現実を翻訳し、知覚する手段としてドローイングがどのように機能するかについて、私たちに再考させます。ここから私たちは、新しい時代の”兆し”のようなものを読み取ることができるかもしれません。
